There's not too much to criticise in this game and I'm not particularly fussy about any historical inaccuracies for this title. There are also creative mechanics added to the game, including artillery that you can mount, the ability to melee attack with more than just a pistol, and a secondary weapon on a tank. In addition to some of the weapons previously used in the original Allied Assault, there's a nice addition of British and Russian weapons that make you feel more like a British fellow or Russian comrade. The game does make good reuse Michael Giacchino's composition from previous games (newer tracks might have been better). And that Jack Barnes does tell the story of the missions and ending poetry beautifully, which more than makes up for the lack of historical videos, the original Allied Assault did not include. It's a nice change to play the role of an airborne paratrooper instead of a covert agent. The exciting atmosphere really gets to you the moment you parachute right over France, which is the most dramatic entrance in a First Person Shooter for its time. The game differs vastly in each mission that you play, from D-Day to the Fall of Berlin.
